Questions from the new generation.

ACSA Proceedings / UIA2021RIO 2020-21.

The 27th World Congress of Architects included peer-reviewed research presentations from professionals from all over the world, in the field of architecture, urbanism, landscape design and urban planning.

'Preguntas desde la nueva generación' was one of the many researches and articles within this collective publication, as an inseparable part of the UIA2021RIO. Furthermore, each designer/researcher introduced key elements of his/her work in a small congress presentation.

Since providing answer would be deemed impossible for those recently arrived in the discipline, 'Questions from the new generations' raises several concerns in shape of questions about ongoing common practices that can be seen as inconvenient. They could be explained through complacency or, merely a result of inertia (physics sense of the word) throughout the intergenerational 'progression' of the last centuries.

Any young architect enjoys part of the magnificently evolved possibilites of urban and architecture realms. At the same time, we inherit also many reverse sides, including corruption in the construction industry, to build from depletion, urban design and accessibility at the service of small parts of our cities only, and more.
